Life long learning is success. And any organization practicing learning initiatives, and processes, which is used to enhance performance and achieve sustainability, will succeed at growth. The learning organization will have an advantage over the non-learning organization. What is a learning organization? A learning organization is the one that learns to love change. A learning organization is also one that embraces the concept or model of the four E's of success which is, Evaluate a situation, for example evaluate the student's learning style, Educate them, Encourage them to succeed, and Empower them to move forward with their new success. In this day and age education has taken a spiral downward movement because of all the state cutbacks. Is this fair to the children as well as to the adult population that are now relying on education even more. People like Mike Bogle, who wrote,"Paint it, Black" http://techticker.net/ speak out about the importance of innovation within education. I feel there is a need for innovative thinkers as well as committed Instructional Designers who don't only think of the money and prestige but the outcome of the student's success.

The culture of the organization's climate induces learning directives, processes, technologies and skills. Learning organizations are indeed up to date with technology, information, and their relationships with both their internal and external environments. These organizations are not afraid to implement new ideas, processes, and innovations. They can adapt quickly and respond to any change that comes their way. Bligh says, "One of the ways that we often talk about instituting change in organizations is through new innovations, and we're defining innovation here relatively broadly in that innovation can be anything from a new technology to a new idea to a new product to a new process in how work is done to a new, perhaps, manner in which we interact as departments or as functional areas of an organization" (Bligh, 2010).

The key is management's capabilities of innovation, and learning through organizational design. Strategic Capabilities and Organizational Design states, "It is important to emphasize that sustaining a competitive strategy with consistent innovation and learning involves more than just a commitment by individuals; it calls for a systematic adjustment of the organization's structure and processes to alterations in the size and scope of operations, the technology selected, and the environmental setting. The process involved in making these dynamic adjustments is known as organizational design" (Schermerhorn, J. R., Hunt, J. G., & Osborn, R. N., 2008).

Learning is necessary for sustainability. Learning organizations should continuously improve their capabilities both internally and externally.
